Clinical Nurse – Home Manager

Location: Derby

Salary: up to £65k per year

Hours: Full Time / Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse – Home Manager to lead the delivery of outstanding care within our clients residential nursing home. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated registered nurse with strong leadership skills to oversee clinical excellence, team development, and the day-to-day management of the home.

About the Role

As Home Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of nursing and person-centred care are consistently delivered. You will lead and support multidisciplinary teams, maintain regulatory compliance, and create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and overall management of the nursing home
  • Ensure high-quality clinical care and safeguarding standards are maintained
  • Lead, motivate, and develop nursing and care teams
  • Manage staffing levels, recruitment, training, and performance
  • Oversee medication management, audits, and clinical governance
  • Maintain compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements
  • Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to support high-quality service delivery
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and continuous improvement

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with active NMC registration
  • Previous experience in a senior clinical leadership or home management role
  • Strong understanding of elderly care, dementia care, and clinical governance
  • Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead teams positively within a fast-paced care environment
  • Commitment to delivering person-centred care

Desirable

  • Management qualification or leadership training
  • Experience managing budgets and occupancy levels
  • Experience leading successful CQC inspections
