Electrical Supervisor

Sparkford | £40,000 per annum | Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-1:30pm | Full-Time

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join a globally recognised and fast-growing engineering company in Sparkford. Specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of incubation and HVAC systems for the poultry industry, this organisation has built a strong international reputation for delivering high-quality solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a hands‑on leadership role within a forward-thinking business.

Key Duties

  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the electrical workshop.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of 6‑8 electrical operatives.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet shipping deadlines and ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of consumables and electrical components.
  • Oversee labour planning, including supporting recruitment where required.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage staffing levels, including overtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work meets required standards.
  • Identify production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Report on production progress, challenges and solutions to senior management.
  • Monitor team performance, set targets, and carry out appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including conducting safety inspections.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and filing systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within an electrical or manufacturing environment.
  • HNC / HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (preferred).
  • Strong practical electrical experience with proven leadership ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with control panel wiring or similar environments.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of productivity drivers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
