About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a new GP or ANP to join our team.
Up to six sessions are available. At least two sessions will need to be on Monday or Friday, which tend to be the busiest days for us.
We consider all modes of work: long‑term locum, initial locum, or salaried with a view to partnership, or salaried under the standard BMA model.
Session Structure
A standard session consists of four hours, with three hours of direct patient contact. This includes ten appointments of 15 minutes each. The remaining 30 minutes may be spent on two face‑to‑face contacts (15 minutes each) or four short follow‑up telephone contacts (7.5 minutes each). Sixty minutes are allocated to administrative work, which will be strictly limited to correspondence and results that relate to the GP/ANP. There is no house call and no special request, queries, or triaging responsibility.
The practice has two GP partners and operates with a list size of approximately 3,900 patients. We are about 3 minutes off the M74 by car.
We use VISION, DOCMAN, Microtech check‑in system, Accurx (for communicating with patients and some triage), and Lexacom Echo (for dictation).
Compensation
Fees depend on skill and experience. Current locum fees per session are £320 plus 22.5 % superannuation, corresponding to roughly £176,000 gross annual income for a whole‑time GP partner (allowing 5 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks bank holiday). Fees for ANP will align with AFC banding.
