Permanent

Are you a finance professional who enjoys improving processes, leading people, and making a genuine impact within a growing, purpose-led organisation?

We’re working with a large organisation in South Wales that is going through an exciting period of transformation and growth following a recent merger. They’re now looking for a Finance Team Lead (Income) to oversee their income operations and help shape a modern, efficient, customer-focused finance service.

This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who enjoys combining operational finance leadership with continuous improvement, systems development, and collaborative working across a wider business.

The role

You’ll lead a small Income Finance team, overseeing rent and service charge processing, banking operations, reconciliations, financial controls, and income-related reporting. Alongside managing the day-to-day function, you’ll also play a key role in improving systems, streamlining processes, and supporting wider finance transformation activity.

The role will include:

  • Leading and supporting the Income Finance team
  • Managing rent and service charge income processes
  • Overseeing reconciliations, banking operations, and financial controls
  • Supporting bad debt monitoring and income reporting
  • Driving process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Working closely with housing, procurement, audit, and wider operational teams
  • Supporting audits and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Helping shape a collaborative, high-performing finance function

What they’re looking for

  • Experience within finance operations or income management
  • Strong reconciliation and financial control experience
  • Good systems knowledge and strong Excel skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or developing a team

Experience within housing, public sector, or not-for-profit environments would be highly beneficial, but isn’t essential.

Why this role stands out

This organisation is genuinely values-led and community-focused, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement. It’s an environment where people are encouraged to bring ideas, challenge processes positively, and help shape the future of the organisation.

You’ll be joining at an exciting time, with the opportunity to influence change, improve systems, and make a real impact within communities across South Wales.
