Balfour Beatty plays a key role as part of the Anglian Water’s one Alliance, a collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry‑leading partners. Together, we deliver around 40% of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

As Senior Planner, you will play a critical role within an integrated project delivery team, taking full ownership of project programmes and ensuring plans are robust, accurate and effectively maintained. Working closely with site, commercial and engineering teams, you will drive delivery performance, proactively manage risk, and challenge delay or deviation to achieve successful project outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Control

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes in line with @one Alliance and Anglian Water requirements
  • Lead collaborative digital planning and production meetings to ensure clarity of scope, sequencing and delivery expectations
  • Liaise closely with delivery teams to ensure consistency in planning methodology and outputs
  • Identify risks and opportunities, driving mitigation strategies to protect key milestones

4D Planning & Reporting

  • Develop 4D animations and digital rehearsals to support construction planning and execution
  • Gather progress updates, analyse impacts on critical paths and key dates, and challenge teams to maintain momentum
  • Attend site regularly to capture accurate programme information

Communication & Quality

  • Clearly communicate programme priorities, critical activities and constraints to project teams
  • Provide project‑specific planning reports and attend relevant meetings as required
  • Maintain high planning standards, ensuring programme integrity and alignment with cost forecasts
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement across the alliance

Who we’re looking for

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience delivering large‑scale, high‑value civil engineering projects, ideally within the water sector
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential)
  • Experience using 4D planning tools and techniques
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and extract key planning insights
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex information clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety
