We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and caring Emergency Physicians to join our team.

Main duties of the job

Our speciality doctors are all provided with SPA time in addition to their core SPA, this is job planned to deliver activity to support the transformation of the department.

We would like you all to be or become approved educational supervisors and support our delivery of a programme of “Excellence in Emergency Medicine Education”.

For those interested in progressing further once you have completed initial RCEM exams we will support you to complete a CESR process. We can support all necessary placements within the organisation a typically one a year and have a track record of our staff completing the process and obtaining specialist registration.

Working for our organisation

If you have 4 years’ experience post registration at least 2 in Emergency Medicine and at least 1 at an ST3 level, then we want to hear from you. If you have significant senior experience overseas and are looking to move to the UK we can offer an initial 6 months at tier 3 to allow for a smooth transition.

Person specification

Education & Qualifications

  • Primary medical qualification.
  • Evidence of achievement of CT1/2/3 ACCS Emergency Medicine Competences
  • 2 Years in Emergency Medicine
  • Minimum of 1 Year in Emergency Medicine as ST3+
  • ALS
  • EPALS or APLS
  • ATLS or ETC
  • MRCEM
  • Experience in Acute Medicine & Critical Care Medicine at level of ACCS

Knowledge & Skills

  • Evidence of ability to work at a minimum entrustment level of 3 in all areas of RCEM curriculum
  • Able to prioritise clinical needs, time and workload
  • Ability to take independent responsibility for the management of all ED presentations
  • Understand the importance of effective team working
  • Ability to assess, recognise and initial management of the acutely ill patient and play an effective part in the advanced life support
  • Knowledge of UK health system, practices and values
  • Computer Literate
  • Ability to practice evidence based medicine
