Functional Skill Tutor – E1, L1 and L2

Cramlington • Up to £30 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications) • Start Date: September 2025 • Contract: Ongoing • Up to 15 hours per week per student

About the Role

You will be supporting young people who are not currently accessing full‑time education for a variety of reasons. Many students have been out of school for some time and may present with emotional or behavioural barriers to learning.

We are looking for patient, nurturing and flexible tutors who are passionate about helping young people rebuild confidence and re‑engage with education.

Sessions are delivered face‑to‑face in community settings, schools or alternative provisions, or the young person’s home.

Subjects & Levels

• Functional Skills Maths
• Functional Skills English
• PSHE
• Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality 1:1 or small group Functional Skills tuition
• Plan and deliver personalised lessons to address learning gaps
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment
• Complete attendance records and weekly progress reports

Requirements

• Previous experience delivering Functional Skills
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• References covering the last two years
