Job Description:

PCB Design Engineer – Contract (6 Months, Likely to Extend)

London (Greenwich) | 3 Days On-Site | ASAP Start | Up to £55.00 per hour (Umbrella)

We’re looking for an experienced PCB Design Engineer to support a high-profile engineering programme focused on advanced power feeding equipment for undersea cable systems.

This is a hands-on role within a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team, where you’ll be delivering complex, multi-layer PCB designs in a fast-paced environment.

You will:

  • Translate circuit schematics into detailed PCB layouts using Altium Designer
  • Design complex, multi-layer PCBs, including high-speed and power designs
  • Optimise layouts for signal integrity, thermal performance, and power distribution
  • Produce Gerber files, Bills of Materials, and full fabrication documentation
  • Ensure compliance with IPC, IEEE, IEC-62368-1, and DFM/DFT standards
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
  • Support design reviews, troubleshooting, and prototype validation

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong, hands-on PCB design experience using Altium Designer (non-negotiable)
  • Proven track record delivering complex, multi-layer, high-speed and power PCBs
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal management
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and testability best practices
  • Familiarity with IEC-62368-1 safety standards (creepage and clearance)
  • Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
