Mid Market Senior Underwriter – Property & Liability – Existing Business

Up to £65,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead our Existing Business Underwriting team, making sure we deliver strong financial performance and great outcomes for our customers.
  • You’ll oversee complex cases, support trading decisions, and act as a technical referral point.
  • You’ll work closely with brokers to build strong relationships and help shape our underwriting strategy.
  • You’ll coach and mentor your team, driving technical development and supporting licence progression.
  • This role is key to ensuring we stay competitive and deliver on Aviva’s strategy.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Proven leadership in property and liability underwriting, with experience managing complex portfolios.
  • Strong account management skills, including building and maintaining broker relationships.
  • Solid technical knowledge of property and liability underwriting principles and market trends.
  • Ability to analyse portfolio performance and make strategic trading decisions.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring underwriters to develop technical capability and drive results.
