MacGregor Black are partnering with a High-Growth Outdoor Consumer Brand on the search for a Managing Director.

This is a rare chance to step into a founder-level leadership role in a fast-growing, profitable consumer brand with a clear pathway to £100m+ revenue.

Backed by entrepreneurial investors, the business has strong product-market fit, loyal customers, and multi-channel traction. The next phase requires a high-calibre Managing Director to scale the platform, professionalise operations, and accelerate growth.

This role carries full P&L ownership alongside accountability for strategy, execution, and leadership of the senior team. Two distinct leadership profiles are being considered — a commercial growth leader focused on category and channel expansion, or an operational scaler who brings systems, structure, and execution excellence. Whichever the background, the successful candidate must be equally comfortable pulling commercial and operational levers within a founder-involved, investor-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own full P&L across D2C, marketplaces, retail/trade, and selected international expansion
  • Lead channel strategy, pricing, margin and category expansion
  • Develop wider ecosystem opportunities (services, community, rental/resale, adjacent categories)
  • Partner with marketing/e-commerce to build a scalable, high-performance growth engine
  • End-to-end ownership from manufacturing to fulfilment and after-sales
  • Build scalable systems, KPIs and infrastructure for multi-channel growth
  • Improve availability, service levels, inventory efficiency and working capital
  • Optimise logistics and fulfilment across UK and international markets
  • Lead and develop a high-performing senior leadership team
  • Build a performance-led, accountable organisation
  • Champion a collaborative, in-person culture
  • Embed values and operating discipline across the business
  • Report on performance, risks and opportunities
  • Lead structured forecasting and performance management
  • Partner with founder and investors on long-term value creation and exit optionality

What We’re Looking For:

  • Senior leadership background in consumer products (MD / CEO / COO / CCO / GM level)
  • Proven P&L ownership with revenue and margin growth
  • Experience scaling across D2C, marketplaces, and retail
  • Strong track record of building teams, systems and operational capability
  • Comfortable in founder-led and investor-backed environments
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability
  • Commercially sharp and financially rigorous
  • Strong people leadership and accountability mindset
  • Clear communicator across boardroom to operations
  • Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments
