AIDC Sales Manager — Battery Energy Storage (Utility Scale)

AI is rewriting the rules of energy demand. Hyperscale and AI data centres need vast, reliable, grid-scale power — and battery energy storage is now mission-critical to delivering it. We’re hiring on behalf of one of the top 4 battery energy storage OEMs in the world to build out their UK AI Data Centre (AIDC) and utility-scale storage business from the ground up.
This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity. You won’t be slotting into an established team to maintain accounts — you’ll be the commercial driving force opening up one of the fastest-growing storage markets on the planet, backed by the manufacturing scale and product depth of a global category leader.
What you’ll do
- Develop the AIDC and utility-scale battery energy storage (BESS) business across the UK, owning the sales growth story end to end.
- Lead commercial contract and price negotiations through competitive bidding — from first conversation to signed deal.
- Own quotations internally: pricing preparation, breakdown, and coordinating the project team and cross-functional departments to deliver.
- Manage sample requirements, quotation and order follow-up to hit annual sales targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with energy storage and data-centre clients, including customer visits and ongoing account development.
What you’ll bring
- A proven B2B “hunter” — competitive, target-driven, and energised by opening new markets rather than managing existing ones.
- Experience selling into data centres / critical power or in battery / energy storage (BESS, ESS, grid-scale). Backgrounds in UPS, critical infrastructure, EV/automotive components or renewable energy are all relevant.
- Strong commercial instincts: contract negotiation, pricing, and stakeholder management.
- Bachelor’s degree or above; international trade or a technical/science background is a plus.
- Comfortable with frequent business travel, including international.
- Fluent English (additional languages welcome).
