As an integral member of our dedicated and innovative team, you will play a vital role in contributing to the design and development of nano and micro satellites.
As Thermal Analysis Engineer, you will:
- Working closely with the business development team to conduct thermal control system sizing, feasibility checks, and trade-off studies at the pre-contract stage, ensuring alignment with project goals
- Propose and develop reliable thermal control system solutions that guarantee sub-systems are maintained within their operational temperature ranges, optimising performance and longevity
- Perform thermal analysis at both the spacecraft and sub-system levels, applying expertise to foresee and address potential challenges
- Support real world thermal testing by preparing necessary test documentation
- Correlate simulation models with test and in-orbit data to enhance the accuracy and reliability of simulations, contributing to continuous improvement and validation of models
- Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across various departments and payload suppliers to collect essential input information required for precise and meaningful thermal simulations
- Prepare and organise comprehensive documentation to present your findings and insights to colleagues from other departments as well as customers, communicating technical information in an accessible manner
- Engage with international suppliers to procure vital thermal control system components, managing relationships and ensuring quality and timeliness
We expect you to have:
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or a similarly related field
- A good understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer
