Senior Analyst – Chemistry (GCMS / LCMS)

Our client, a specialist scientific consultancy, is looking for a Senior Analyst to join their team due to their continued expansion. This will be a hands‑on role within the labs, using mass spectrometry techniques to perform specialist analysis work as directed by their customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform mass spectrometry analysis in the lab.
• Conduct extractables and leachables testing to fulfil customer requirements.
• Use chromatographic analysis techniques such as GC/MS, LC/MS, and optionally FTIR, TGA, UV‑VIS or GPC.
• Work within a regulated / structured lab environment (GMP, GLP, ISO17025).
• Receive on‑the‑job training and contribute to a large‑scale lab setup.
• Support and enable the team’s scientific objectives.

Qualifications

• Strong scientific academic background in Chemistry or a related field at degree level, or
• Master’s degree with 18 months of lab experience, or fresh PhD in a relevant analytical field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar lab‑based role (or 18 months for Master’s/PhD).
• Proficiency in chromatographic analysis techniques (GC/MS and/or LC/MS). Experience with FTIR, TGA, UV‑VIS or GPC is desirable.
• Experience working in a regulated / structured lab environment (GMP, GLP, ISO17025).
