Markets are complex, data-rich and fast-moving – a veritable playground for the curious and creative mathematical mind.

We’re pleased to convene the brightest quantitative talent from across Europe to show us their skills and apply their expertise to modeling a market scenario for a chance to win $10,000 – and enjoy an all-expenses paid week in London, United Kingdom.

The Competition

In teams of two, observe patterns and form hypotheses to define ideas with mathematical precision.

  • Each invited participant will get to bring one teammate of their choosing to tackle the quantitative challenge. All competitors must fall within eligibility guidelines below. Your teammate does not need to apply or be selected to qualify.
  • Each pair will be provided a series of datasets and will spend the week applying sophisticated statistical techniques to the problem set. They will develop insights that they will present to a panel of Citadel Securities Quantitative Researchers who serve as judges.
  • The Official Rules for the competition will be provided to participants at the time of program acceptance.
  • The duration of the competition is three days.

Day 1: Orientation

Benefit from a firm overview, meet and greet Citadel Securities colleagues and fellow participants.

Days 2: Competition

Spend time on project work , benefit from mentorship and enjoy curated evening activities.

Day 3: Presentations

Complete final project work and share your findings with a panel of expert judges.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or another highly quantitative field.
