Job Description:

Looking for a Senior Manager to join the Audit Stream Risk and Reporting team in the Audit Quality Department (AQD)? This role supports audit teams in resolving audit risk and reporting matters, ensuring high audit quality and compliance with UK regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage and handle queries on the form and content of audit reports, engagement letters and other reporting matters.
  • Review and approve non‑standard engagement letters, amendments to terms of business, hold‑harmless letters and NDAs.
  • Advise on audit stream risk issues, ensuring appropriate support for the audit team and review of audit working papers when required.
  • Approve modified audit reports and non‑standard audit reports, including component auditor reporting.
  • Take responsibility for ad‑hoc projects, ensuring that all processes and controls related to audit stream risk and reporting are correctly implemented and any remediation points are addressed.
  • Proactively identify wider risk and reporting issues and implement policies and guidance to assist audit teams.
  • Write and maintain templates, manuals, guidance and articles for use by the audit teams.
  • Contribute to audit quality initiatives led by the wider Audit Quality Department.

Qualifications

  • ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification.
  • Recent audit experience working on PIE and listed audit engagements, or an internal role advising on PIE and listed entities.
  • Excellent practical and technical audit risk and reporting experience.
  • Objectivity, scepticism and confidence to challenge senior audit team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team, using own initiative.
  • Innovative and creative thinking to improve processes and guidance.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate difficult messages.
  • Personal responsibility and accountability for own work.
  • Awareness of UK regulatory requirements is useful but not essential.
