Weekend Chef (Chef in Charge) – Rosewell House

We’re looking for a confident and experienced Chef to join the team at Rosewell House on a part-time basis, covering weekend shifts. This role is ideal for someone who is happy to take the lead in the kitchen, as you’ll be acting as Chef in Charge during weekends , in the absence of the Chef Manager.
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals within a healthcare setting, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, excellent standards, and a positive dining experience for residents.
What you’ll be doing Preparing and serving fresh, high-quality meals that enhance the customer experienceTaking responsibility for the kitchen during weekend shifts, leading from the frontSupporting menu changes and contributing ideas for new dishes and conceptsMonitoring stock levels and ensuring the kitchen is well organised and suppliedMaintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygieneActing on feedback to continuously improve food and service deliveryEnsuring full compliance with Food Safety, Hygiene, and Health & Safety regulations
What we’re looking forExperience in a similar Chef role, with confidence working independentlyPrevious experience supervising or leading a teamPassion for great food and delivering excellent serviceRelevant catering qualifications (City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent)Food Hygiene certificationA flexible, reliable approach and the ability to step up and take ownership
