An opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded Energy & Regulated Industries team, consistently recognised in leading legal directories for its market-leading expertise.

About the Team

This specialist team is known for being at the forefront of the UK energy sector, delivering technically excellent, pragmatic advice in a collaborative and supportive environment. The practice has experienced sustained growth over the past five years, driven by a strong and diverse client base.

The team advises on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Complex commercial contracts across the energy sector (e.g. power purchase agreements, fuel supply agreements, and industry codes)
  • Energy and infrastructure projects, including development, financing, and disposals
  • Structuring projects and supporting corporate and finance transactions
  • Regulatory advisory work affecting energy market participants

Clients include governments, regulators, utilities, developers, network operators, suppliers, and major corporates.

The culture is inclusive, non-hierarchical, and genuinely collaborative, with lawyers working closely across disciplines to deliver seamless client service.

The Role

This is a client-facing role offering early responsibility and the opportunity to build strong client relationships. You will:

  • Advise on a wide range of commercial and energy-related contracts
  • Support transactional energy and infrastructure projects
  • Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice
  • Work closely with colleagues across multiple practice areas

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with 1–4 years’ PQE
  • Strong academic background
  • Solid experience in commercial contracts (essential)
  • Some exposure to the energy sector preferred
  • Excellent research and drafting skills, with the ability to deliver concise, practical advice
  • A pragmatic, commercially minded approach and willingness to develop within a specialist sector
