Humanities Teacher + Head of Year
An ‘Outstanding’ and supportive Secondary School in the Borough of Hounslow is looking for a Humanities Teacher / Humanities ECT – History, RE & Geography for a September start. This is a full‑time, permanent post.
The current Humanities Head of Department has helped the department grow, with a mix of experienced teachers and Teach First teachers, supported by graduate teaching assistants who help raise attainment across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Experienced Humanities Teachers can take on a Teacher Leadership Role such as KS3 & KS4 Coordinator and Pastoral responsibility. Newly Qualified Teachers (ECT) will be enrolled onto the school’s bespoke ECT induction and work alongside a range of experienced teachers.

- Inspire and motivate the younger generation
- Work alongside a team of Humanities teachers
- Teacher Leadership Roles: KS3 & KS4 Coordinator and pastoral responsibilities
- ECT support: 1:1 mentor, bespoke induction, in‑house training and more
- Full‑time, permanent, September 2026
- Salary range MPS1‑UPS3 (size depending on experience)
- Located in the Borough of Hounslow
Person Specification
- Must have UK QTS or be in process of gaining
- Strong academics – degree, A‑levels, GCSEs across the board
- Must meet 8 Teaching Standards to a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level
- Able to work as part of a large team of Humanities teachers
- Willing to listen to feedback
