Overview of the Role

After recent framework successes, we have opportunities for Senior Civil Engineers (Design Engineers) within our multidisciplinary Water Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering:

  • Water treatment
  • Water distribution
  • Wastewater drainage and recycling
  • Desalination

Our clients include UK water utility companies and many other governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas. We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover.

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple UK and Ireland water companies
  • Be part of multidisciplinary design teams in project delivery
  • Deliver excellence every day
  • Prepare design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Undertake studies, concept, preliminary and detailed design
  • Interface and liaise with clients and other stakeholders

Candidate Specification

Essential

  • Civil Engineering degree or other relevant degree
  • Chartered or near chartered status (ICE or equivalent)
  • Water and/or wastewater engineering design experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety and environmental issues
  • Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios

Desirable

  • Strong digital capability (e.g. Civils 3D, GIS, Pipeline hydraulics software)
  • Contributed towards the identification and development of low‑carbon solutions
