Job Overview
Responsible for the delivery of hard services activities in compliance with contract SLAs at the County Hall Complex. Carry out duties inline with Mitie Policies and Procedures, promote Mitie Values and Behaviours, drive the highest level of results in health and safety, ensure company and account objectives are implemented and monitored, drive performance from Operational Delivery Teams and Contractors, assure best practice guidelines, identify risks and opportunities, and take a continuous improvement approach to plant and building fabric.
Main Duties
- Assume AP responsibilities including Low Voltage AP, Working at Height AP and Hot Works AP for the County Hall Complex
- Attend training courses as required
- Manage a team of 6 engineers
- Provide operational support, information and reports as requested to the SFM
- Maintain the client’s premises to the highest standard through routine walk rounds and proactive repair actions; record results
- Escalate issues to provide early warning of defects
- Attend meetings where required
- Manage attendance, sickness, leave, punctuality, productivity, quality of work and behaviour of the engineering team in line with MITIE Values
- Conduct 6‑month and annual appraisals (MiReviews) and regular 1‑2‑1s
- Provide technical support to the team
- Maintain 100 % statutory and mandatory compliance across the ECC estate
- Manage PPM, reactive and small quotes in line with contract KPIs (30 % of PPM completed weekly, 100 % completed in the month)
- Complete statutory remedial works within KPI timeframes
- Ensure breached reactive work and quotation work are dealt with immediately
- Monitor and act on the WPLAN report daily to keep jobs to a minimum
- Audit 5 % of engineer and sub‑contractor PPM per month
- Oversee all sub‑contractor activities and undertake RAMS reviews for related works
- Proactively manage health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment, a safety‑driven culture and compliance with all legislative and company policies
- Ensure tool, PPE, test equipment and ladder checks are completed when due and recorded
- Conduct monthly toolbox talks
- Ensure engineers are competent in on‑site systems; develop and implement a training programme
- Schedule training courses for engineers as required
- Keep costs to a minimum by utilising on‑site staff before engaging sub‑contractors
- Develop Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures
- Prepare and submit operational, accident and incident reports
- Provide quotes for new works
- Keep asset information up‑to‑date
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with development of the Forward Maintenance Register and capital expenditure budgeting
- Attend handovers for capital and cycle‑replacement work
- When a fault is related to a new project and still under warranty, escalated to the Project Manager or Project Director with a written report and photos
