Senior Manager – FS Indirect Tax Advisory
London / Canary Wharf (Hybrid – 2 days/week)
Our client is a market-leading professional services and advisory organization with one of the most established Financial Services Indirect Tax practices in the market, supporting major banking, insurance, asset management, fintech, and capital markets clients across complex VAT and indirect tax matters.
The team works closely with multinational financial institutions on strategic VAT advisory, transactions, restructuring, regulatory-driven change, and operational transformation initiatives, operating as part of a highly integrated global financial services tax practice.
This is a predominantly advisory-focused role with strong exposure to sophisticated client environments, complex technical work, and high-profile strategic projects rather than compliance-heavy delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advising financial services clients on complex VAT and indirect tax matters across banking, insurance, asset management, fintech, and capital markets
- Supporting strategic indirect tax advisory work across transactions, acquisitions, restructuring, operating model changes, and transformation initiatives
- Advising on complex areas including input VAT recovery, partial exemption, outsourcing structures, fund management VAT, and cross-border FS VAT matters
- Supporting clients through regulatory-driven business change, operational tax challenges, and large-scale transformation programmes
- Working closely with Partners and senior leadership teams across complex client engagements
- Leading client relationships and managing delivery across advisory-led indirect tax projects
- Collaborating with broader transactions, consulting, legal, and tax teams across multidisciplinary engagements
- Supporting junior team development, practice growth, and broader business development initiatives
What They’re Looking For
- Strong Financial Services indirect tax / VAT advisory experience
- Experience advising banking, insurance, asset management, fintech, or capital markets clients
- Strong background within advisory-led VAT environments rather than predominantly compliance-focused roles
- Exposure to transactions, restructuring, deals advisory, or strategic business change projects
- Strong technical understanding of UK and international VAT principles within FS environments
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and operating within complex client environments
- Strong commercial awareness, communication, and relationship management skills
- Comfortable operating within fast-paced, collaborative, high-performing advisory teams
Nice to Have
- Exposure to private equity, alternative investments, or international FS structures
- Experience within a Big 4, top-tier advisory, or consulting-led environment
- Exposure to operational taxes, tax governance, or tax operating model projects
- Experience supporting M&A integration or transaction services initiatives
- Interest in practice development, go-to-market initiatives, and team leadership
