Position Overview
FRP Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director/Director of Corporate Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special‑situations mergers and acquisitions (SSM&A), with extensive experience in a professional services environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to managing complex transactions and providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
- Lead and manage SSM&A transactions from inception to completion on both the buy‑side and sell‑side
- Conduct financial analysis, due diligence, and valuation
- Develop and present strategic recommendations to clients
- Negotiate terms and structure deals to maximise client value
- Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges for clients facing financial difficulties
- Assess and analyse distressed companies to identify potential opportunities
- Co‑ordinate with legal and financial advisors to manage insolvency proceedings
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives
- Provide high‑quality, tailored advice and support throughout the transaction process
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm’s client base
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture
- Provide guidance and support on complex transactions and client engagements
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team
- Strategic and Operational Focus:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the corporate finance practice
- Ensure the delivery of high‑quality services in line with the firm’s standards and client expectations
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to provide informed advice to clients
Qualifications
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
- Extensive experience in corporate finance, with a focus on SSM&A
- Proven track record of managing complex transactions and delivering successful outcomes
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Significant experience in a professional services firm is essential
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team
