Position Overview

FRP Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director/Director of Corporate Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special‑situations mergers and acquisitions (SSM&A), with extensive experience in a professional services environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to managing complex transactions and providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
  • Lead and manage SSM&A transactions from inception to completion on both the buy‑side and sell‑side
  • Conduct financial analysis, due diligence, and valuation
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations to clients
  • Negotiate terms and structure deals to maximise client value
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges for clients facing financial difficulties
  • Assess and analyse distressed companies to identify potential opportunities
  • Co‑ordinate with legal and financial advisors to manage insolvency proceedings
• Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives
  • Provide high‑quality, tailored advice and support throughout the transaction process
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm’s client base
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture
  • Provide guidance and support on complex transactions and client engagements
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team
• Strategic and Operational Focus:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the corporate finance practice
  • Ensure the delivery of high‑quality services in line with the firm’s standards and client expectations
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to provide informed advice to clients

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
• Extensive experience in corporate finance, with a focus on SSM&A
• Proven track record of managing complex transactions and delivering successful outcomes
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Significant experience in a professional services firm is essential
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team
