Position Overview

A senior clinical fellow (ST7) in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Fixed‑term post for 12 months starting August 2026.

Shift pattern: Monday‑Friday 9:00‑17:00 plus on‑call duties. The role is based in the trauma service with a possibility to undertake an oncology fellowship later.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in regional on‑call rota.
  • Treat patients across the full remit of OMFS including adult and paediatric craniofacial surgery, cleft care, facial deformity, facial trauma and head and neck oncology.
  • Maintain a logbook and complete relevant appraisal during the 6‑12 month period.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council and licence to practice.
  • ST7 level or equivalent; candidates at the end of or nearing completion of higher surgical training may apply.
  • Must be eligible for or hold full GMC registration.
  • Applicants who have not undertaken a UK Foundation Programme within 3.5 years of the advertised start date may be asked to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST).

Other Considerations

  • The post does not have educational approval and will not be formally recognised for training.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be discussed during recruitment if less than full‑time hours are sought.
