Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Domestic Abuse Team to work full time based in Reading.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £56,269 per annum.
- Work within RBC policy procedures and good practice guidelines in order to meet the needs of children enabling them to source the help, support and protection they need.
- Ensure and deliver on the timely progression of contacts, promoting a whole family approach while focusing on the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
- Be competent and comfortable working within a high-pressured environment that requires high-standards of screening and progression of contacts in short timescales.
- Work closely with others to explore the needs of children and their families, initiating and maintaining positive working relationships with other professionals, partner organisations and external agencies.
- Consider the emerging needs of children and young people in conjunction with the Threshold guidance, ensuring that any challenges are resolved at the earliest opportunity and with the child’s welfare remaining the focus.
- Carefully and quickly, make enquiries and source information, with explicit adherence to consent models and established information sharing pathways, to assess a child/young person’s needs.
- Demonstrate sound analytical skills that critically evaluates information received, forming well balanced and evidence-based recommendations. Your analysis will be informed by relevant research and theory.
- Respond effectively when members of the public and professionals may present in times of crisis.
- Utilise supervision with your line manager as an interactive process to develop practice and improve performance at the individual and team level.
- To work with children, young people, families, carers and communities to help them make informed decisions and engender change, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to any agreed plan of support.
- To keep up to date with contemporary issues in children’s social work including legislation and evidence-based practice, and to attend relevant training and development opportunities.
- Maintain and update case notes and other records.
- To take reasonable care of your own health and safety and cooperate with management, so far is necessary, to enable compliance with the company’s health and safety rules and legislative requirements.
