Head of Economic Development

A major UK infrastructure organisation is seeking a Head of Local Economic Development to lead the economic strategy for a large-scale expansion programme. The role is a 12 month contract, Inside IR35, requiring 3 days in the office (TW6)

The Role

Lead the development and delivery of an Economic Development Strategy, ensuring measurable benefits for local communities, businesses and the wider economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Economic Development Strategy aligned to planning requirements
• Deliver the Economic Development Framework within a major planning submission
• Oversee socioeconomic analysis, impact assessments and external consultants
• Shape initiatives across skills, employment, SMEs and local growth
• Engage with regulators, local authorities and business stakeholders
• Embed social value, inclusive growth and economic impact measurement

About You

• Senior experience in economic development, regeneration or socioeconomic planning
• Strong stakeholder management across public and private sectors
• Skilled in economic analysis, forecasting and social value
• Experience in large infrastructure or planning environments (desirable)
• Happy to go to the office 3 days per week, TW6 postcode
