The disputes team regularly advises on complex domestic and cross border litigation with particular expertise in banking, shareholder, insolvency, and commercial disputes.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join a growing and highly regarded Dispute Resolution team in London.
The firm is open to candidates from Associate through to Senior Associate level and is seeking a commercially minded litigator with strong experience in general commercial disputes together with some exposure to banking and finance litigation.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of high value and often multi-jurisdictional matters, working closely with experienced Partners on complex disputes while also running matters with increasing autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on a wide range of commercial litigation matters including contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, fraud-related claims, insolvency disputes, and general business litigation.
- Assisting on banking and finance disputes involving lenders, borrowers, guarantees, enforcement issues, and financial services related claims.
- Supporting and managing High Court litigation from pre action stage through to trial and settlement.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
- Assisting with interim applications including freezing injunctions and other urgent relief where required.
- Working alongside counsel, experts, and international advisers on cross-border matters.
- Attending mediations, settlement negotiations, and client strategy meetings.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.
- Supervising junior lawyers and trainees where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
- England & Wales qualified Solicitor.
- Experience ranging from Associate to Senior Associate level.
- Strong background in commercial litigation gained at a reputable city, national, or recognised regional firm.
- Exposure to banking and finance disputes or financial services litigation would be advantageous.
- Experience handling High Court litigation and complex procedural matters.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and client management skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to deliver pragmatic legal advice.
- Comfortable managing matters independently while also working collaboratively within a wider disputes team.
