We are supporting our major client in appointing a Market Development Lead to drive structured entry and growth within UK Defence and Central Government markets. This is a strategy-led role focused on creating long-term pipeline, not short-term sales.
The Role
Market Development Lead
Responsibilities
- Defining sector entry strategy across Defence / Public Sector.
- Mapping MOD, DE&S, Dstl and wider central government ecosystems.
- Analysing hiring patterns, demand signals and competitor positioning.
- Understanding public sector procurement routes and framework agreements.
- Building senior stakeholder relationships before live requirements.
- Establishing credible market presence and strategic partnerships.
Success is measured by access, positioning and future opportunity creation.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience operating within UK Defence and/or Central Government markets.
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks.
- Experience opening new sectors or building market presence.
- Confidence engaging senior decision-makers in regulated environments.
This is not a generalist business development role. It requires sector credibility, market intelligence capability, and long-horizon thinking.
