Lead Conversion Strategist | Ecom Landers
Role description and compensation breakdown
We’re hiring a Lead Conversion Strategist to run and grow our Conversion Engine programme
– the managed post-click CRO retainer for Shopify brands doing £300k–£1.5M/mo.
This is a senior leadership seat. You’ll refine & constantly upgrade how we run CRO at Ecom Landers –
methodology, frameworks, standards – and own the strategic relationship with our highest-
value clients. You sit alongside our Design Lead and Dev Lead as the third pillar of our agency.
Over time, you’ll build out and lead a team of strategists under you.
What you’ll do:
- Own the strategy and outcomes for your book of Conversion Engine accounts – no cap on how big that book becomes.
- Run the full client relationship – kickoff, weekly cadence, strategic reviews, escalations, expansion.
- Build the test roadmap and write & direct the copy (hero, PDP, funnel).
- Brief the design and dev pods on what to build and why.
- Refine the agency’s CRO methodology – playbooks, frameworks, test taxonomies, the way we run engagements.
- Recruit, train, and lead junior/mid strategists as the book grows.
- Report on lifts, retention, and programme performance using our internal “EcomLandersApp” tool as well as Claude-powered reporting
- Sit at the leadership table – contribute to agency direction, pricing, productisation, hiring.
What we need from you:
- 5+ years agency-side or in-house CRO, ideally with a copywriting background.
- Available 9am – 5pm UK working hours.
- Proven ability to hold senior client relationships without escalation.
- Direct response copy fluency – you can write a hero in a brand’s voice or recognise when one is wrong.
- Sharp test design instincts – you frame hypotheses properly, not “let’s try a green button”
- Numerate and comfortable in GA4, Shopify analytics, Intelligems, Triple Whale, Heatmaps, Klaviyo.
- Operationally tight – you run a weekly cycle without being chased.
- You close loops, send the recap, flag the slip before it’s a problem.
- Capacity and ambition to build a team under you – this is a Lead role, not a senior IC.
Compensation
• £45,000 base
• 5% revenue share on accounts you personally own
• Retention bump: 5% → 7% on accounts retained 6 months+
• 2% override on accounts run by strategists you manage
• Milestone bonus pool eligibility from month 6
• Discretionary annual performance bonus up to £10k
OTE £80-90k year one. £110-130k year two at full personal load. £140-155k+ year three with
team and milestone bonuses. No ceiling on what you retain and grow.
The setup
UK-based, remote with occasional and largely optional team meets. You’ll work alongside our Design Lead, Dev Lead, COO & Founder. We’ve built 6,000+ landing pages for 550+ DTC brands in 8 years.
