Operating independently of NHS and Government funding, the charity relies on the generosity of supporters, donors, volunteers and partners to keep its lifesaving service operational.As GWAAC delivers its ambitious 2024-2028 strategy, the Board is seeking a Trustee with significant fundraising expertise who can provide strategic leadership, constructive challenge and guidance to strengthen income generation and long-term resilience.
About the roleAs a Trustee, you will work alongside a talented and committed Board, supporting the charity’s governance and strategic direction.The successful candidate will bring fundraising insight to Board discussions, helping to maximise opportunities across a range of income streams and ensuring fundraising remains aligned with organisational priorities and values.You will also act as an ambassador for the charity, helping to strengthen relationships with supporters, businesses, philanthropists and stakeholders throughout the region.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in:Fundraising strategy and income growthMajor donor and philanthropy developmentCorporate partnerships and sponsorshipTrusts and foundations fundraisingLegacy and individual giving programmesSupporter engagement and relationship managementFundraising governance, regulation and ethical fundraising practice
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:A strong track record of strategic fundraising leadershipThe ability to interpret fundraising performance and provide effective oversightExcellent relationship-building and influencing skillsA collaborative approach and sound judgementCommitment to good governance and the role of the Trustee BoardPassion for supporting a charity that makes a tangible difference to local communitiesPrevious trustee experience is welcomed but not essential.
