Role Summary

This is a UK-wide role based in any of our UK offices, as an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Engineer, accountable for ICT design, project management, and delivery of projects from inception to handover to the client.

  • Principal ICT Engineer with significant background in IT network design.
  • Design IT networks within buildings, implementing leading edge network designs and technologies into real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand, develop, and interpret their requirements from concept through to detailed design, on multi-disciplinary design projects in coordination with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.
  • Work across WSP with specialists in MEP, Smart, AV to develop holistic and comprehensive solutions.
  • Create future-ready buildings with ICT foundations to deliver great user experiences.

Your Team

We work on a variety of projects, helping clients to navigate and embrace emerging technologies. The UK Building Services Team delivers projects ranging from high‑rise towers such as 22 Bishopsgate and 40 Leadenhall, to hyper‑scale data centres, to stadia such as Fulham Football Club, and transformative healthcare projects such as Monklands Hospital digital twin.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Passion for the future of technology in the built environment.
  • Experience in ICT design and project delivery of medium to large building projects.
  • Ability to produce detailed design and performance specification, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies for review by colleagues prior to issue.
  • Experience producing detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs.
  • Experience providing design and technical advice on projects led by seniors or taking a discipline lead role on smaller projects.
  • Ability to create and interpret technical documents including reports, diagrams, drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
  • Ability to work under clear direction of others and interpret the needs of a project where applicable to the discipline.
  • Effective communication of complex technical information and non-technical information to clients both inside and outside the business.
  • Understanding of specialist building systems including MEP, BMS, fire safety, lighting and security systems, and the smart building technology aspects of deploying modern smart buildings.
  • CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership.
  • Revit MEP training applied to the discipline.
  • Any accredited network qualification (e.g., Cisco certified accreditations or RCDD).
  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and be capable of achieving SC-level UK security clearance.
