Industrial Disease Paralegal – Manchester / Birmingham – Hybrid – up to £35,000
A well‑regarded national law firm is seeking an Industrial Disease Paralegal to join its expanding Manchester or Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist Industrial Disease department handling complex, technical claims while developing your expertise in a top‑tier practice.
As an Industrial Disease Paralegal in the Manchester or Birmingham team, you’ll manage a varied caseload of disease‑related matters, benefit from strong mentorship and structured training, and gain hands‑on exposure to high‑quality, challenging work.
The Role
• Managing a caseload of industrial disease claims including HAVS, Short Tail and NIHL
• Investigating liability, quantum and causation across a range of technical matters
• Drafting and reviewing legal documentation and correspondence
• Reviewing medical, occupational and employment records
• Preparing evidence and supporting documentation for litigation
• Liaising with clients, experts and external stakeholders
• Working closely with senior fee earners on complex and higher‑value cases
• Ensuring accurate file management and compliance throughout
The Candidate
• Paralegal with experience assisting on or managing industrial disease files
• Strong understanding of the litigation process
• Familiarity with HAVS, Short Tail or NIHL claims
• Strong academic background
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Proactive, detail‑focused and committed to high‑quality work
