Speech and Language Therapist – Brixton, LondonSpecialist SEN School | Full-Time | Permanent (Term Time + Holidays)£45,000 – £61,000 | Immediate or September Start

Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist ready to step into a strategic leadership role within a specialist education setting?

A well-established specialist SEN school in Brixton is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to lead and develop therapy provision across the school. This is a senior role within a multi-disciplinary team, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver a high-quality, evidence-informed therapy service for children and young people with autism and complex communication needs.

You will take overall responsibility for therapy outcomes, working closely with senior leadership to ensure a cohesive, transdisciplinary approach that supports pupils to access education and develop independence.

Key responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership across the Speech and Language Therapy serviceOversee assessment, diagnosis, and intervention planningDeliver and model high-quality therapeutic practiceSupport and manage therapy staff, including supervision and developmentEnsure therapy provision aligns with EHCP outcomes and school prioritiesContribute to whole-school strategy and decision-makingMonitor therapy impact, outcomes, and service qualityWork collaboratively with education staff and wider clinical teamsLiaise with families, external professionals, and stakeholdersSupport governance, reporting, and continuous service improvement

The school follows a holistic, child-centred approach, focusing on communication, independence, and emotional development within a structured and supportive environment.

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualificationIs HCPC registered and a member of RCSLT (or equivalent)Has significant experience working with children and young people with SEN (autism desirable)Has strong leadership or senior therapy experienceUnderstands neuro-affirming and evidence-based practiceHas experience working within multi-disciplinary teamsHas excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skillsIs confident in driving service development and improving outcomes
