V3 Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Injection Mould Press Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Waterlooville. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong injection moulding experience to join a high-volume production environment.
Role Purpose
The Injection Mould Press Engineer is responsible for the setup, operation, optimisation, and maintenance of injection moulding presses to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
This role plays a key part in maintaining stable processes, delivering consistent cycle times, producing high-quality parts, and supporting continuous improvement across the moulding department.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out setup, start-up, and shutdown of injection moulding presses in line with work instructionsInstall, secure, and remove mould tools safely and efficientlySet and adjust machine parameters including temperatures, speeds, pressures, cooling, and clamp forcePerform first-off checks and complete all required documentationOptimise cycle times and process parameters to improve efficiency and qualityTroubleshoot moulding defects such as flash, short shots, burns, warpage, and contaminationSupport improvements in OEE, scrap reduction, and overall production performanceInspect moulds, hot runners, and ancillary equipment for wear or damageCarry out routine preventative maintenance tasksWork closely with Toolroom and Engineering teams on tool changes, repairs, and modificationsEnsure all parts meet quality standards and specificationsSupport root-cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and other problem-solving toolsSupport new product trials, process development, and documentationFollow all health and safety procedures at all timesSkills & Experience Essential
Previous experience setting and operating injection moulding machinesStrong knowledge of plastics processing, materials, and machine parametersAbility to read engineering drawings and process documentationStrong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering skillsExperience working in a high-volume manufacturing environmentSkills & Experience Desirable
Qualification in Polymer Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or similarExperience working with robots, sprue pickers, conveyors, and ancillary equipmentKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SMED, 5S, or continuous improvement processesExperience working within ISO 9001 environmentsForklift or overhead crane certificationPersonal Attributes
