Instrumentation & Monitoring Technician (Construction / Environmental Monitoring)

Location: London & Site-Based (UK Projects)Salary: 30,000 – 35,000 + PackageJob Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are recruiting for an Instrumentation Technician to join a growing team delivering monitoring solutions across major construction, infrastructure and environmental projects.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with experience in construction, site instrumentation or environmental monitoring, looking to develop within a technically advanced and fast-growing sector.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of monitoring systems, supporting projects involving groundwater, vibration, noise, air quality and structural monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Site-Based Duties

  • Install and remove monitoring equipment (vibration, noise, air quality, groundwater and settlement systems)
  • Install and configure data loggers, telemetry systems and remote monitoring equipment
  • Carry out manual readings, calibration and verification checks
  • Perform maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting on instrumentation
  • Work across construction sites including major infrastructure and environmental projects
  • Supervise subcontractors involved in drilling and instrumentation works
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety and quality standards

Office / Pre-Site Duties

  • Prepare equipment, materials and documentation for mobilisation
  • Review drawings, specifications and method statements
  • Maintain accurate ITPs, installation records and reports
  • Provide technical support to project teams

Requirements

Essential

  • Prior experience in construction, civil engineering, geotechnical or environmental sectors
  • Strong practical, hands-on ability with tools and site-based work
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and record keeping
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience with groundwater sensors, vibration monitors, noise monitoring or telemetry systems
  • Experience installing or maintaining environmental or monitoring equipment
  • Experience supervising subcontractors or working alongside drilling teams
  • Confined space / working at height experience
