Commercial Gas Engineer

Position: Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: East Midlands (Derby, Nottingham)

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repairs of commercial heating systems across a variety of commercial sites, including prisons, educational buildings and government sites.
• Cover the East Midlands area, primarily Derby and Nottingham, and be based in or within commuting distance of these locations.
• Work in secure environments such as prisons, adhering to strict safety and security protocols.
• Maintain and manage mobile equipment, tools, a mobile phone and a tablet as required.

Qualifications

• Current ACS commercial gas qualifications.
• Ability to pass security checks / DBS.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience in commercial boiler servicing, fault finding and repairs.
• Willingness to undergo and pass CTC clearance checks.

Salary & Benefits

• Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:30pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch).
• Travel paid after 30 minutes each way.
• Overtime at enhanced rates (up to 1.82x basic rate).
• 1 out of 7 weeks call‑out rota.

• Annual bonus: discretionary, based on business and individual performance after 12 months of service.
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
• Death‑in‑service insurance: 3x annual salary.
• Enhanced sick pay: 4 weeks full pay after 7 days of sickness (post‑probation).
