Principal Control Systems Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Control Systems Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within the nuclear industry.

Location

Your client is a privately owned system integrator based in the UK, with a strong track record in control and functional safety system projects across the nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering activities on specified projects or groups of projects within the nuclear industry.
• Manage a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers, including requirements, hardware, software, mechanical and CAD.
• Initiate, oversee and lead engineering activities on contracts with support from other engineering staff.
• Map how complex systems will be used to deliver projects, adhere to industry best practices and the latest regulations.
• Explore new technologies to enable breakthroughs and streamline the team’s work.
• Support the Engineering Manager in developing a long‑term strategy for the senior engineering team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical, Software, or Control System engineering development.
• Demonstrable experience leading teams in a project environment with a proven track record of delivering successful systems.
• Eligibility for UK security clearance.
• British passport holder.
