We are recruiting for a quality coordinator for our client based in Newark.

This is a varied, hands-on role reporting to the Technical Director, with responsibility for maintaining and continually improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 and EN 1090.

You will play a key role in ensuring quality standards, compliance and customer requirements are consistently met, while working closely with engineering, production, suppliers and management.

The Role

You will take ownership of the Quality Manual, QMS documentation and quality processes, ensuring procedures, work instructions and records remain accurate and controlled.

You will plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate external audits and manage non-conformances, corrective actions and root cause investigations. You will also monitor quality KPIs, identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing scrap, rework and recurring quality issues. The role also includes managing customer complaints and supporting supplier quality and performance. There is a strong practical element to the position, including visual and dimensional inspection of components and fabricated/welded assemblies, first-off and sample inspections, goods receiving and, where required, supplier/subcontractor inspections. You will also maintain the company’s calibration system, assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and support environmental and sustainability initiatives.

Experience

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a Quality, Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, ideally within an engineering, fabrication or manufacturing environment. You will have a strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and knowledge of EN 1090, together with experience of quality inspection, internal auditing, non-conformance and root cause analysis. An ISO 9001/EN 1090 Internal Auditor qualification would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate. You will be practical, organised and confident, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement are essential. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is also required.

£32,000 – £35,000 salary, depending on experience, 36.25 hours Monday to Friday, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
