An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised MDT Co‑Ordinator to join the Respiratory team at Birmingham Chest Clinic.

You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality patient care by coordinating Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, ensuring timely and accurate patient pathways, and facilitating effective communication across clinical and administrative teams.

This is a key role within the service, requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive and full-range administration/Multidisciplinary (MDT) coordination for the TB service. Work in conjunction with colleagues, service users and stakeholders to provide an efficient service.

The MDT Co‑ordinator will be responsible for TB clinics, booking of appointments, appointment rescheduling, outpatients and partial booking waiting lists, liaising with patients and colleagues internally and externally.

It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement using acquired skills and knowledge, maintaining confidentiality at all times. The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for service users.

The post holder will be responsible for day‑to‑day training and supervision of other administrators/Co‑ordinators and clerical support workers.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Good general education (e.g., GCSE English and Maths, Grade A-C, GCSE LEVEL 9-4)
  • Business Administration NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in an Administrative environment

Experience

  • Experience of dealing with the public/customer service experience
  • Experience of working in a secretarial/administrative role with a proven track record of problem solving
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and deal with the unpredictable
  • Ability to work under pressure and to multi‑task
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
  • Experience of working in healthcare
  • Previous experience of transcribing formal minutes
  • Experience of transcribing

  • Plus knowledge of dealing with non‑routine issues such as problem solving for an area of work
