Digital E‑Learning Development Lead – 12‑month secondment or fixed‑term role. Seeking a motivated, creative individual with strong digital content creation skills and a passion for empowering staff in their use of IT systems. The role involves supporting day‑to‑day training on clinical and administrative systems and major project workstreams, including upgrades and new system rollouts. Collaboration with local organisations to enhance patient care will be central.
You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of high‑quality digital learning resources that support the rollout of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. Responsibilities include producing engaging, accessible e‑learning modules for different staff roles, translating clinical workflows into effective digital learning solutions, delivering training virtually and in person, shaping training plans to maximise EPR benefits, leading Digital E‑Learning projects, identifying new training opportunities, and championing innovation. You will work closely with the EPR Training Manager, training teams, clinicians, Project Implementation, and Training Officers to assess training needs, evaluate system impacts, design targeted content, and support e‑learning development.

Knowledge Requirements
- Knowledge of the role and importance of health informatics within the NHS
- Ability to translate current processes into future ways of working, highlighting organisational development needs and aligning services
- Knowledge of related local and national strategies and policies
- Knowledge of PRINCE methodology
- Extensive knowledge of business processes
- Expert knowledge of a range of clinical applications and processes throughout acute hospitals
- Knowledge of using Visio and Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of GDPR/Data Protection and data sharing agreements in the NHS
- Specific expertise in clinical applications e.g. CareFlow PAS, ICE, TPP SystmOne and Nervecentre
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Level 4 or 5 training qualification or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of ITIL
- PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management
- Evidence of continued professional development
Experience
- Substantial experience working with several clinical IT systems
- Experience working in the NHS environment
- Significant experience designing e‑programmes to expert level
- Experience with e‑learning and screen‑recording software such as Captivate and Camtasia
- Experience identifying training needs and delivering training to both internal NHS staff and external staff
- Experience with clinical systems implementation
- Delivery of complex programmes of work using the PRINCE2 methodology
- Experience managing project work streams and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent time‑management skills with a pro‑active and flexible approach
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and within a customer‑driven team
- Previous NHS experience
- Audit or research experience within clinical environments
- Understanding of business change methodology
- Experience presenting written reports and communicating verbally to an audience
Contractual Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly, outside of normal office hours, to meet service needs
- Ability to travel throughout the health community
