Job overview
Consultant in Geriatric Medicine, Acute medicine or General practice to join Virtual Ward/Hospital at Home and provide clinical leadership to multidisciplinary team caring for patients in a virtual ward setting. Fixed term 12 months at 4 sessions per week Thursday & Friday. Responsible for overseeing medical care, supervising staff, and ensuring high standards of care. Open to candidates across stages, including first post.
Main duties
- Provide senior clinical input to Virtual Ward, Hospital at Home service.
- Liaise with consultant colleagues in acute medicine, respiratory, cardiology.
- Participate in daily MDT, telephone advice, and domiciliary visiting.
- Support step down/step up patient flows.
- Cover annual/company leave within timetable.
Qualifications
- Full GMC Registration
- MRCGP
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT, Portfolio Pathway or European Community Rights
- Medical degree and postgraduate qualifications MRCP or equivalent
- SCE in Geriatric Medicine
- MD/PhD
