Senior Analyst, Technical & Cash Accounting

Manage and analyse reinsurance technical accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, accurate reporting, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to optimize processes within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and maintain reinsurance technical accounts, including premium adjustments, commission calculations, and claims transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, Solvency II, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Analyze treaty accounts to ensure accuracy, compliance with contractual terms, and proper reserving.
  • Monitor and reconcile outstanding balances, ensuring timely collections and payments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper allocation of funds and timely resolution of unapplied cash items for London Market Business including Bureau messaging.
  • Monitor aged receivable reports and proactively manage premium collections to minimise past due balances.
  • Collaborate with brokers and underwriters with an emphasis on reducing the over 90-day receivables.
  • Collaborate with brokers, reinsurers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Conduct reconciliations of reinsurance accounts and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance principles, treaties, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong understanding of Account Reconciliations and Variance Analysis regarding Cash & AR activities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the reinsurance or insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of both Proportional & Non‑Proportional Reinsurance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with reinsurance systems such as SICS or IRIS platforms.
  • Experience working in the Lloyds market.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and with third party counterparts.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
