Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Senior Sales Executive to join our team. Role Responsibilities
- Selling digital and print advertising to scientific recruiters in Europe.
- A key focus on Branded Content, digital advertising solutions and recruitment subscription packages on Nature Careers.
- Managing existing accounts as well as new business development.
- Lead sourcing, cold calling and selling advertising online and in print.
- Regularly meeting and liaising with clients and agencies to discuss and identify advertising requirements within the designated territory.
- Writing clear and customised proposals including products across the entire Springer Nature portfolio of journals and websites.
- Upkeep of all ongoing sales activities in CRM and provide clear revenue figures and sales forecast to management on a weekly basis.
- Developing complete market awareness, understanding competitor strengths, weaknesses and sales methods and keeping track of share of market across the entire territory.
- Attend relevant exhibitions, career fairs, conferences, trade shows and other events in the market.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with prospecting and cold calling.
- Excellent phone manner and high level of customer service.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to cope under pressure.
- Good knowledge of general office computer software and CRM systems (including MS Office and Salesforce).
- Client oriented and pro‑active sales approach.
- Ability to demonstrate lead generation and new business development techniques.
Desirable
- Previous sales experience preferably within a B2B environment and comfortable with cold calling.
- Fluency in French would be an advantage, however this is not an essential requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

- Advertising clients, including any companies and institutions that recruit scientists, in academia, government and industry.
- Internal departments, including sales, production, marketing, editorial and online development.
