Job Purpose

The Global Director – Finished Vehicles holds the primary responsibility of shaping and implementing a comprehensive FVL strategy within automotive, ensuring alignment with industry trends, supply‑chain management best practices, and DP World regional priorities. By leveraging expertise, the sub‑vertical leader contributes to the development of end‑to‑end solutions, utilizes data‑driven insights, and collaborates with the ports and terminals team to enhance thought leadership and drive sales. The role supports the Global Vertical VP and key account teams, serving as a subject‑matter expert to provide tailored solutions, presentations and collateral. The Director functions as DP World’s global expert for the FVL sub‑vertical, facilitating new business growth for all DPW services within the FVL sector.

Key Accountabilities

Vertical Strategy Development: Formulate and implement a comprehensive sub‑vertical strategy, staying abreast of industry trends and supply‑chain best practices in FVL products and services.

End‑to‑End Solutions Expertise: Analyse logistics data, identify optimisation opportunities, and spearhead development of fit‑for‑purpose end‑to‑end solutions in collaboration with the ports & terminals team and regional management.

Global and Key Account Management Support: Act as a subject‑matter expert, supporting Global Vertical VP and key account teams by providing insights for tailored solutions and ensuring seamless service delivery. Assist GKAMs, RKAMs, Key Account Managers and regional P&T management in selling FVL solutions worldwide.

Commercial Leadership: Facilitate FVL sales in all regions, lead by example using FVL/logistics expertise, with the goal of increasing DPW FVL revenue 10% ($25M) by year‑end 2027.

Thought Leadership and Training: Conduct training sessions, organise customer events, represent the company at industry conferences, and develop distinct collaterals and PR materials in collaboration with marketing and communications.

Provide a central point of contact for DPW’s FVL sub‑vertical, assist internal and external clients with all FVL matters, maintain metrics, and create appropriate collateral, presentations and other materials.

Work with the Global Vertical VP to promote a high‑performing automotive team, ensuring alignment with goals, objectives, values, safety, and DP World’s Code of Conduct.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in logistics and supply‑chain management, with a specific focus on automotive FVL strategy and execution. Experience in trade lane knowledge, RORO shipping, port processing, vehicle handling/PDI, and cars in containers is required.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective logistics and supply‑chain strategies within the automotive FVL segment, resulting in tangible business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large automotive supply‑chain data sets.
  • Track record of leading cross‑functional teams and driving operational excellence within a logistics context.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex logistics concepts to non‑logistics stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience implementing Lean methodology and driving continuous improvement initiatives across物流 operations.
  • Familiarity with logistics technology commonly used in the automotive FVL industry.
  • Proficiency in interacting positively with external clients, selling and explaining solutions, and engaging appropriate DPW departments.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to achieve objectives with non‑direct reports, regional personnel and departments.
  • Experience with lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
