Location: London
Job Description:

The Opportunity

Your engineering expertise belongs in water. If you’re a Mechanical Engineer who knows your way around pumping or process systems, there’s never been a better time to bring those skills into the water industry. Stantec is growing its UK water teams and actively looking for mechanical engineers ready to make the move. The sector is in the middle of record investment, with a committed pipeline of work stretching the next 5 to 10 years, so the opportunity is real and sustained. You will be stepping into a sector tackling some of the most pressing infrastructure challenges of our time: upgrading pumping stations, designing resilient water and wastewater treatment solutions, and building infrastructure that communities will depend on for generations. These are the kinds of problems that keep you genuinely engaged. You will join well‑respected teams, work on projects with real impact, and have serious room to grow your career in a direction that matters.

What We Offer

  • Consistent long‑term workload spanning multiple AMP cycles
  • Record sector investment committed
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • Strong work‑life balance

About You

You will be degree‑qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, ideally Chartered or working towards it. You will have solid experience working with pumps, pressure systems, or fluid‑based infrastructure in a sector such as food, utilities, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, building services, or another sector entirely. You are comfortable taking projects from feasibility through to detailed design, working across disciplines, and delivering quality work on time. Water industry experience isn’t required – your transferable skills are what we’re interested in.
