Role Overview

R&D Engineer – Composite Analysis (Banbury, Oxfordshire, On Site). The role involves design, development, and analysis of structural composite components using techniques such as multi‑axis high‑speed filament winding, high‑pressure resin molding and braiding. You will also participate in hands‑on testing to validate and refine models.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and analyse composite structural components from first principles and hand calculations.
• Perform and review finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as Abaqus, NX, and Solid Mechanics.
• Develop new FEA models and contribute to iterative design and testing feedback loops.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong foundation in engineering mathematics, solid mechanics and stress analysis.
• Experience in Matlab, Python or Excel for numerical modelling.
• Experience in finite element software (e.g., Abaqus).
• Knowledge of composite materials is highly beneficial.
• Highly motivated, with a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem solving and development.
• Clear open two‑way communication skills.
