Let Us Tell You a Bit About The Opportunity

The Senior Fraud Manager provides independent second‑line oversight and challenge across Aldermore’s fraud risk landscape, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

The role covers fraud risk across Aldermore’s UK specialist lending and savings businesses, with a focus on application fraud, identity fraud, intermediary and broker‑related fraud, and account misuse across the customer journey. It also provides oversight of financial crime risks where they intersect with fraud, supporting a joined‑up and proportionate approach to risk management.

This role is a 6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent 2LoD oversight and challenge of fraud risk controls across customer onboarding, credit applications, broker/intermediary channels, and account lifecycle events.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of controls addressing key fraud typologies, including application fraud, identity fraud, synthetic identities, document fraud, and first‑party fraud.
  • Oversee fraud risks within broker‑led origination models, including introducer fraud, collusion risk, and misrepresentation, with challenge on due diligence, monitoring, and governance frameworks.
  • Provide oversight of fraud risks across savings and lending portfolios, ensuring controls are proportionate to product design, customer journeys, and evolving fraud typologies.
  • Monitor and report on fraud risk appetite, KRIs, and MI, delivering clear insights to governance forums and ensuring timely escalation of emerging risks and control issues.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and financial crime frameworks, including SYSC requirements, AML/CTF integration, policy development, and oversight of thematic reviews and change initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in fraud risk management within financial services, covering application fraud, identity risk, and lending and/or savings products.
  • Strong understanding of 2LoD frameworks, governance, and risk oversight practices.
  • Experience with broker/intermediary‑led distribution models and associated fraud risks.
  • Good knowledge of AML/CTF frameworks and the intersection between fraud and financial crime.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fraud MI, trends, and emerging risks.
  • Proven ability to influence, challenge, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders in a regulated environment.

Benefits

  • A hybrid working policy, 2 days per week onsite in our London office.
  • A friendly and flexible culture.
  • A growing organisation that offers many opportunities to progress.
  • A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to support from day one.
  • Competitive remuneration with a core benefits package and bonus potential.
