Commercial Vehicle Quality Technician

About the Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a Commercial Vehicle Quality Technician to join a busy production and workshop environment. This is a hands‑on role focused on ensuring all vehicle builds, modifications, and installations meet strict quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications before delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed inspections of completed commercial vehicles, including bodywork, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Inspect conversions such as lutons, dropsides, platforms, and curtain siders.
  • Ensure all work meets job cards, technical drawings, and build specifications.
  • Ensure all builds comply with company procedures, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Verify that build documentation and inspection records are completed accurately.
  • Support adherence to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to maintain high-quality build standards.
  • Provide feedback on recurring issues and quality concerns.
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Ensure documentation is stored correctly for audit and traceability purposes.
  • Clearly communicate defects and rework requirements to relevant teams.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to company policies and housekeeping standards.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and a proactive approach to quality control.

  • Previous experience working with commercial vehicles in a workshop, manufacturing, or conversion environment.
  • Good understanding of vehicle body builds and installation processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications.
