Multi-Skilled Engineer

We are on the hunt for a skilled and dedicated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join my client’s Maintenance Department in Grays, Essex.

Client

Our client is a large organisation within the retail industry, known for its innovative approach to technology and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance to an excellent standard, ensuring items that require rectification are either immediately repaired or logged and scheduled for revisiting.
• Operate with safety in mind at all times, dynamically risk-assessing all jobs to ensure the safety of myself and those around me.
• Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from all departments, supporting operational colleagues where possible.
• Monitor site performance, ensuring we operate effectively and use methods to measure availability and performance.
• Be proactive and dynamic with timekeeping, providing the best value to the customer within working hours and continuously improving business processes.
• Create documentation for learnings from major breakdowns/outages, using root-cause analysis and best-practice approaches.
• Support the maintenance budget by adopting a no-waste approach and repairing or reusing equipment where possible.
• Maintain administrative records, keeping the CMMS up to date and completing shift reports to a high standard.

Shift Pattern

4 on 4 off (3 banks of days / 1 bank of nights)

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Engineering.
• Understanding of PLC & SCADA systems desirable.
• Proficiency in automation software and programming languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a wider team.
