Senior HR Business Partner & People Transformation Lead – Consulting
Location: Birmingham or Manchester
Permanent, Full Time
We’re working with a global professional services firm at a genuinely interesting point in its growth. Their Consulting business is evolving, new priorities, new ways of working, and a sharper focus on how the people strategy enables that growth. As a result, they’re looking to bring in a senior HR Business Partner who can operate close to the business and help shape what comes next.
This role brings together two key elements: credible, senior‑level business partnering and hands‑on people transformation.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with senior Consulting leaders, acting as a trusted partner on the people agenda, while also helping to drive the change needed to support the business.
Day to day, that will include:
- Partnering with SLT stakeholders to shape and deliver the people strategy
- Building strong, trusted relationships and providing both support and challenge where needed
- Leading and contributing to people and organisational transformation initiatives
- Translating business priorities into clear, commercially focused people plans
- Navigating a matrix environment and bringing the right stakeholders together to get things done
- Working closely with specialist teams (Talent, Reward, Resourcing, Development) to deliver joined‑up solutions
- Ensuring momentum, turning ideas into tangible outcomes, not just conversations
What they’re looking for
First and foremost, this is about finding a strong HR Business Partner. Someone who is comfortable operating at a senior level, influencing stakeholders, and genuinely embedding themselves in the business.
You’ll likely bring:
- Experience partnering with senior leadership teams in a complex or matrix environment
- A track record of shaping and delivering the people agenda within a business area
- Exposure to transformation or change initiatives, with the ability to stay close to delivery
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence
- A commercially minded approach, understanding how people decisions impact performance
- Experience within consulting or professional services is helpful, but not essential
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent) is required; Chartered status is desirable.
Why it’s worth considering
This is a role with real visibility and impact. You’ll be working directly with senior leaders, helping shape the direction of a key part of the business, and playing a hands‑on role in delivering change.
It’s an opportunity to operate as a true partner to the business, while still being close enough to the detail to see things through.
