Family Law Solicitor

Job Summary

RecQuest is working on behalf of an ambitious law firm looking to expand its Family Law team and seeking a dedicated Family Law Solicitor to join them in Petersfield. They are searching for a motivated individual with 3+ years PQE, experienced in handling family law matters, who can manage and grow an existing caseload.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert legal advice on family law matters, including divorce, separation, financial settlements, and cohabitation agreements.
• Advising on matters related to child arrangements, parental responsibility, and disputes.
• Drafting pre‑nuptial and post‑nuptial agreements tailored to clients’ needs.
• Representing clients in court proceedings and negotiations, ensuring their best interests are upheld.
• Handling sensitive cases involving domestic abuse and emergency injunctions.
• Advising on alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and collaborative law.

What They Offer

• Competitive salary range: £45,000 – £55,000
• Full‑time, permanent role
• Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
• Bonus scheme of up to £20,000 extra
• Firm‑wide bonus with an extra 9% of salary on top.
• Solicitors 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
• Long service awards an extra day when they hit 5 years, 10 years and 15 years
• In addition: Christmas closure typically from 5pm on 23rd December until 9am on 2nd January
• Half day for birthday if it falls on a working day
• 1 Wellness Day per year

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (minimum 3 years PQE) with experience in Family Law matters.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to independently manage a busy caseload.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in handling sensitive and emotional client situations.
• A compassionate, client‑focused approach combined with business acumen to help build and grow the firm’s client base.
• Previous experience using case management systems.
